Please join us on Sunday 25 August to celebrate a wonderful new body of work by Dalene Meiring.
The exhibition will officially open at 2.30pm with champagne and artist talk. A wonderful opportunity to view these beautiful select works and meet the artist. We hope to see you here. Online catalogue will be onsite from Monday 26 August. For this show, Quay artists bring personal individual works and small collections of ‘sketches’ using a variety of different mediums. The works invite the viewer to explore this concept beyond the obvious - offering inspiration to the audience to evolve ideas, thoughts, feelings and emotions through the creative exploration of the ‘sketch’. It is an important and integral component of the artistic journey and is often used as an emotional outlet in combination with words to convey message and meaning or purely to remember – a scene, a moment, a person, an idea.
With this exhibition, we seek to inspire and inform, to invite discussion and open internal dialogue. The show will open on Thursday 14 March from 5-7pm with drinks and chats with a number of our artists, and will run until Thursday 28 March. We hope you will join us to enjoy this eclectic and inspiring show. RSVP to opening: [email protected] Quay Gallery invite you to join us to celebrate the opening evening of this wonderful exhibition of Avian Royalty by Julian Hindson.

Ken's work is extraordinary. He can paint anything, in any style, beautifully. This exibition of fine art paintings by this incredible New Zealand artist will be on throughout February.
"I believe every artist has an agenda. Mine is to inspire and uplift. No-one can compete with the marvels of creation, but it is my aspiration to try to capture a moment in time in such a way, as to bring a lasting tangible feeling of appreciation for the beauty of nature, specifically, that which inspired the artwork to begin with." A selection of stunning underwater scenes inspired by the ocean, her jounery to her art and the influence of nature. Click here to view online catalogue.
Quay Gallery is pleased to present new works by Ken Nysse - a New Zealand fine artist originally from Cockle Bay, now residing in Havelock North whose hyper-realistic works stunningly depict our majestic New Zealand landscape. View in the gallery throughout August.
Current Exhibition: THESE DAYS : PAST AND PRESENT - Seascapes and Landscapes by Nicholas Hayter5/5/2022
Exhibition by Nicholas Hayter : These Days - Past and Present. A gorgeous selection of New Zealand scenes - seaside and landscapes.
Nick is the master of textured oils and these beautiful works will sit wonderfully in any home for years to come. The works focus on interconnections, sometimes humour, sometimes darkness of mood and the play of the materials. There are juxtapositions and mutuality, without a need for authorship or ownership. Look for things that bring out some artistic language, bare and undisguised, sometimes awkward where continuing stories can be discovered and read. There are chances to be patient and reflective.
"Art is a means to discovery, consider it as one of the conditions of human life. Viewing it in this way we cannot fail to observe that art is one of the means of intercourse between humans. Every work of art causes the viewer to enter into a certain kind of relationship with the artist and the artwork and with all those who, simultaneously, previously, or subsequently, receive the same artistic impression.” Gaye Jurisich |
