ABOUT SALLY MAGUIRE
Sally Maguire has been a self-taught artist for around 30 years. She first began in chalk pastels eventually teaching pastel art in Raumati for a few years – sharing techniques and fostering in others a love of and desire to develop their art.
Sally now works only in oils on linen and canvas, her works show her passion for animals - especially the country animals that she grew up with - her goats and cows, donkeys and chickens.
"Each animal, every life no matter what or who they may be has a beautiful soul and a wonderful story. I hope my works inspire a sense of curiosity into stories behind each character I have the pleasure to create."
Sally has owned Artmosphere Gallery in Waipawa for 11 years with her partner Helmut Hirler. She has been represented in galleries all around New Zealand with works in private international collections. She is currently very focused on her art and is developing a new body of work.
