Anna Stitchbury Profile
Anna was born in Wellington and lives there today. Since 1998 Anna has had many solo exhibitions throughout New Zealand & Australia. Travel is one of Anna's many enjoyment's as she has travelled extensively throughout Asia, the Pacific, United Kingdom & Europe.
Anna's abstract work is very distinctive with the use of mainly black, gold, silver and red colours. Anna is a member of The Academy of Fine Arts. Her paintings are bold and feature intense hues. Her love of colour and texture are evident in her work. These factors combine to create rich, vibrant paintings that have an immediate impact for the viewer.
"My works are always about colour and texture. I am influenced by many things, my immediate enviroment, places I travel, changes of seasons and the transition of time. These themes are always abstract in my paintings and portrayed through the use of layers of colour, textures, patterns and imagery. I love the emotional response to a work"
