ABOUT BRENDON SOLE
Brendon discovered hot glass in 2002 while attending a bachelor of fine arts degree in Whanganui.
He was so taken with the medium - its immediacy of creation and almost limitless design potential, that he decided to study glass full time. Brendon graduated in 2005 with a glass diploma specilising in hot glass processes and glass blowing techniques.
In early 2006 Brendon started as assistant at the Chronicle glass studio. This position allowed Brendon to continue practicing glass making and advancing his skills.
Brendon now works at a glass studio in Whangarei and continues to evolve his works, learning from those around him, growing as an artist and devloping the direction of his art.
Brendon's pieces are as varied and different as the aspects of glass that he finds so appealing. Chaotic colour patterns gracing classically inspired forms. Transparent colour imparts a diffuse glow within pod-like forms, appearing in both hard and soft simultaneously.
There is personality in each piece as Brendon draws from the stars, the elements, and his own personal encounters to produce these individual and special works of art.
